The thickener (also known as concentrator) is a key equipment for the dehydration of concentrates and tailings in beneficiation plants. It is widely used in metallurgy, mining, coal, chemical industry and other fields for solid-liquid separation.
The equipment uses the principle of gravity settling to separate solid particles from liquid, with the addition of flocculants to accelerate the settling speed, improving thickening efficiency and overflow water clarity.
Main types include center drive, peripheral drive, and high-efficiency thickeners, suitable for different scales of production needs.
Slurry enters the thickener through the central feed well. Solid particles settle to the bottom under gravity, are scraped by the slowly rotating rake to the central discharge outlet and removed as underflow, while clarified overflow water flows out from the top weir for reuse.
Flocculant addition accelerates particle settling, improving thickening efficiency and overflow clarity. The center-drive structure operates stably with low energy consumption and easy maintenance.
